It was SIXTY degrees when we got up Tuesday morning (9/19)!!! Michael had early morning blood work, and then a physical therapy appointment for his knee. He did grocery shopping on the way home at ALDI's and Harris Teeter. I did a bike ride and made out grocery lists and started my cooler list for the Fiber Floozies retreat. June & Pat and I will be leaving next Monday morning for retreat and I won’t be home til the following Saturday….so basically no blogs next week.
I made a start on loading the backing for my next customer quilt before having a quick shower and heading off for the Fiber Nutz meeting at 1 PM at Kathy’s house. It was both an interesting and frustrating meeting….with so many things to talk about that I never took even one picture :~(.
I was home by 4 PM and talked to my honey before dinner. He left after 6 to head the movies and I got the rest of the quilt loaded:
Our former mail lady (who retired about 2 years ago) wanted a t-shirt quilt made, and Paula agreed to make it...and also bind it after I quilt it.

I SKYPE-d with Janice on Wednesday morning (9/20) after my honey left for golf, then had a nice, long chat with Pam R before working on cleaning my soap making supplies….I didn’t clean them after the last time I made soap….plus everything is out in the garage….so one corner was covered with cobwebs…and there was dust over everything. I got it all cleaned up and hope to make soap before I leave on retreat as we are down to just 1 – 2 bars….and they have to ‘’cure’’ for several weeks after they are made. After that I settled in with a new book…so you know what that means…I was pretty much useless for the rest of the day :~).
Michael and I had fish from ARBY’s for dinner, then he left for rehearsal and I started quilting. I got about half-way done with Paula’s quilt before heading upstairs to knit.
And one of my students from Monday's class finished her sewing apron and sent me a pic...she said it will really come in handy and I am so very pleased:

*** I can not shop at Costco anymore :-(
Yesterday I was at Costco buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Necco, the Wonder Dog, who weighs 191 lbs. I was in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had an elephant? So because I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and that the way that it works is, to load your jacket pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stopped to pee on a fire hydrant and a car hit me.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.
Costco won't let me shop there anymore. Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say. ***
I love the Costco story! Sometimes when my dad doesn't have anything to do (he is 92, will be 93 in November), he will string along a 'spam' caller. He has had them on the phone for 15 minutes! Have fun at retreat!
OMG... Me too ! I was giggling from the 4th row...
ROFL at Costco story..
Great story!
