Waffles, Mama Ricotta's, Michael's get well card

And in what should not be a surprise to ANYONE, our country is for sale and tRUMP has decided that of course, the very wealthy have a different set of rules:

President Donald Trump is now offering a path to citizenship — but only to those who can afford to pay a hefty price. In about two weeks, the US will start selling "gold cards" to wealthy foreigners, giving them the right to live and work in the US in exchange for a $5 million fee.

We had a relaxing Sunday morning (2/23) with waffles and bacon:

and at 1 PM we headed into Charlotte for a matinee performance of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG:

I would call this play a ‘’love letter to community theatre’’ and I can’t believe how much Michael and I laughed.  I have to admit, at least 95% of what went on, on stage, Michael has lived through in his 40 years in community theatre.  Raelene – remember ‘’10 Little Indians’’…and the 2 pieces of wood for the gun?  This was a lot like that!!!  Oh my goodness it was an EXCELLENT play and we laughed ourselves silly.

When the play was over, we decided to go to MAMA RICOTTA’s for dinner, and that was also an excellent idea.  We haven’t been there since probably before the pandemic…and our meals were outstanding.  We split a Cesear Salad:

and then I had PENNE with Vodka Sauce and bits of pork:

while Michael had Chicken Parm:

We brought home enough leftovers for at least 2 more meals and were home by 7 PM.

We fell onto the loveseat and binge watched 2 (new to us) episodes of DEATH IN PARADISE (well, I say we watched….Michael watched and I kind of slept through them!)  All in all it was a terrific day.

I spent Monday morning (2/24) continuing to work on my QoV...this always takes longer than I think it should, and always involves some mishaps along the way...my brain continues to resist ''on-point'' stuff:

I had a NOON appointment for a mammogram screening, and spent the afternoon still sewing away on my QoV rows.  Michael and I were at first planning to have our restaurant leftovers for dinner, but we both felt chilly, so ended up having leftover soup and yummy rye bread instead!

****************************************

I was up at ‘o-dark hundred again on Tuesday morning (2/25) for my bone density scan at EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE as my mammogram yesterday!!  I consoled myself by stopping at BISCUITVILLE on the way home.  I took my library book with me, hoping for 15 peaceful minutes to read and eat my breakfast, but it was not to be….of course they had something blaring over the speakers in the dining room….ad after ad….after ad!  When did every place decide that we need a television in every waiting room and ‘’entertainment’’ in every fast food restaurant?!?!!?  In disgust, I got every packed to go and came home to eat.  I read my book while I ate breakfast, and then of course, since I was so near the end…and I wanted to know who the murderer was….I sat in the living room until I finished it!!  After that I hit the studio and finally got the last ends woven in on Sandy’s quilt, and got it all trimmed.

The rest of the day was spent on the new QoV….you know…this pattern looks really weird and not very pretty almost right up until the end:

but now:

I LOVE IT!!!!  I don’t have the 4 corner triangles on, and still have to figure out the borders to get it to the correct size, but it turned out just as nice as I hoped it would.  I’m definitely keeping this pattern in mind….even though it taxes MY mind when I’m laying it out and sewing it together:~).

It was leftovers for dinner again, then Michael left for the movies and I settled in to veg in front of the TV.  On a happy/sad note, our neighbors Kay and Pete stopped down to invite us to dinner, and tell us that their house has sold.  I am VERY happy for them (they get to move back to Ohio, near their families), but sad for us.

And my honey is so sweet to me...I told him I would like another ''get well'' card.....and here it is:

I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE having an artist in residence :~)!!

Hi Deb! Thank you for sharing. I also share your opinion of the current, backwards administration. The designs of the diamond quilt. I love contrasting colors. :-)
