After breakfast on Saturday (6/15), Michael took Freya to the dog park and I headed to the studio. I got my customer quilt trimmed and an email sent off to her indicating the quilt was done, then started working on my first tablecloth.
I got it loaded up by the time Pam stopped by for a nice long visit, and to pick up the cat fur that she is going to spin into yarn for me:
After that I had time to start sewing Teal Splendor columns together:
before a very early dinner and a date night out to see a BEACH BOYS tribute band.
We were in row 5……
perfect seats and they were OUTSTANDING!! It was an incredible show…they did so many of their hits…and sounded SPOT ON:

We had a lazy Sunday morning (6/16), then I got a blog entry out before baking up some Blueberry Coffee Cake:
Pieces of it were distributed to some neighbors and I eventually tore myself away from a new book and made my way downstairs :~).
Michael was immersed in the US Open championship and I started quilting on my tablecloth:
The thread is such a perfect match that even I'm having trouble telling where I stitched and where I didn't!! While that was going on, I tried to sew more Teal Splendor columns together….I started to pin the long seam…..and that’s when I discovered that one of my background pieces was sewn on backwards, so that involved a bit of ripping and fixing before I could continue. I got that all fixed, get the seam pinned, trimming off dog ears as I go…and at the other end…guess what? Yep, ANOTHER background piece sewed wrong side out :~(. By then it was 5 PM and I was hungry, so I headed upstairs and made and ate a sandwich for dinner before continuing ripping and fixing.
*** ME: I’m going for a triathalon!
FRIEND: WOW – swim, cycle, run?
ME: Nope….book, bath, nap. ***
Great videos - super blueberry cake!
Thanks for the mini concert. Brought back lots of memories.
Love your new quilt going up !
Thanks for the videos! We are rather "show deprived" in this area, so that is always nice to see...
