When I toook Cookie out Wednesday morning (11/10), I couldn't help but notice we have a TON of blooms on the hydrangea bushes, even as our leaves are dying off due to the cold temps:

And we're still getting the occasional, gorgeous rose here and there:

I decided I had procrastinated enough, so when I hit the studio , I got my second QoV loaded up:

I set up the pattern, wound my bobbins, and kicked it off….and after 2 minutes of stitching, my thread broke :~(. This is demoralizing…I can’t tell you how it sucks all of the joy out of quilting when I’m thinking this is going to be happening from now on. Luckily, Janice got home from her morning appointment and we got to do our usual SKYPE-ing for 1-1/2 hours….so I got a break from it…but eventually I had to try again. I thought I'd show you the pattern on my computer, as it is very hard to see on the quilt:

I loosened my tension a bit, kicked it off again, and managed to get 3 rows done with no breakage.

I dropped back to my old thread for this one…which is fatter than my new polyester thread, so I’m hoping that I just didn’t loosen the tension enough, and that the problem with previous breakage was a bad spool….we’ll see.

Michael and I were still working on cleaning up leftovers for dinner…and spending the evening together watching TV.

I was up and out early on Thursday (11/11) after my honey packed the car….hoping to hit the bank and the library before heading off to quilting. So….are any of you laughing at me yet? Veteran’s day…..both the bank and the library were closed :~(. Oh well, I still got breakfast at Wendy’s (their seasoned potatoes were ‘’da bomb’’ and such a big portion for the smallest size!) before heading to quilting. We had kind of a light attendance, but still lots of great show and tell:

-Susie had 3 antique quilt tops she has pruchased over the years, and she gave us lots of information about each of them, that she has gleaned by studying them:

-Ann had a very unique baby quilt for a family that lives in Hawaii:

-June was giving away this rolling tote, and Susie immediately snapped it up!

-Marge has finished an absolutely stunning ONE BLOCK WONDER from a panel. She pulled peacocks from the panel and appliqued them on top and did a lot of thread painting as well. Her husband wants to hang it in his office, in front of his desk:

-Jerri was sorry that Linda M didn't make it to quilting, to see how her fabric was used as the perfect border for this quilt:

I took in another one of my ‘’COVID’’ quilts, which will be donated to Beds=Dreams. If you click on the picture, it should get bigger and you can see the feather quilting in rainbow variegated thread:

June and I stopped at WENDY’s for a bite of lunch after quilting, before heading to an assisted living facility where a former Thursday quilter has been living:

Jeri was VERY glad to see us, and we spent a pleasant hour visiting and hearing all about her current projects.

I was finally home at 4 PM and got to SKYPE with BG for about an hour before my honey left for the Lodge to pick up sandwiches for dinner. The flooring guy stopped by to drop off some samples just before Michael left for a pick-up rehearsal. I watched TV and texted with friends until he was home around 10 PM.

*** I’ve opened a can of worms. They just sit there…the worms….hardly the chaos that’s been advertised. ***

*** MUFFINS – for people who don’t have the guts to order cake for breakfast. ***
