Michael headed out to help with the red/white/blue tournament at the golf course, while I SKYPE’d with Janice Wednesday morning (7/10). I had a hair appointment after that...and when I came home looking all beautiful (???), I spent a bit of time reading my library book.
But finally, in the early afternoon I started cutting out and sewing on my very first THREE YARD QUILT:
****************************************
Michael packed up the car Thursday morning (7/11) before leaving for a mammoth trip to BJ’s, and I picked up Nancy and headed to quilting. I don’t know why, but it seemed like a really lively day and I got lots done on my HST’s! We had wonderful show and tell:
-a finished Bento Box top....a class Janice and I taught a couple of years ago...
-and another Bento Box totally finished!
-ripped napkins from the demo I gave a couple of weeks ago
-with a matching tablecloth
-and the most adorable napkin rings
-applique was all hand-did....pieced blocks were done on a machine
-all hand quilted
-June is learning graffiti quilting
-more dyed fabric...I think this was with tumeric
-and this was blackberries
-Denise showing us the iron on vinyl to protect her placemats
before settling in with yummy food for our monthly pot luck:
I was home around 2 PM, and read my book for the rest of the day. While I was at quilting, my honey came home, put all of the food away from BJ's and headed out to Concord…where he didn’t get home until 7 PM!!! But his baby now has racing stripes on the side….from this:

Love all of the Show and Tell, the yummy food and Michael's glammed up 'baby'!
Love June's graffiti and the BIG FOOT!!
Michael is really getting into this Mustang mod. Love the fabric for the 3 yard quilt.
You really have some very talented people at that quilting group
So many comments
I wasn’t sure what the first picture was supposed to show us, the cat in the background was kind cute
The first bento quilt reminded me of the one I made at retreat
I don’t recall you mentioning Ripped napkins before or a demo you taught, what are they?
The hand pieced and appliqué quilt is gorgeous and the quilting was fabulous, I’m in awe.
June really has many talents and she seems to keep coming up with new ideas
You mentioned the iron on vinyl before, is it shiny, you can’t see it in the pictures, is it supposed to protect the fabric from stains, does it sink into the fabric.
